 PLAYOFFS BABY!

This is the time of year I have been waiting for! It was a Wild Ride for some of these Playoff Teams. I will break down the Wild Card games and give you my winner vs the point spreads. Many experts say this round does not matter, but I beg to differ. There could very well be one or two teams in this round that could go ALL the Way!

Here's what I figured out after hours and hours of research:

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

Both the Colts and Texans started out the season on a very bumpy ride! Neither one should even be here and that's the beauty of it. Let's start with that Texans #3 run defense. They have proven that can stop whoever is running that rock nearly all season with a healthy Watt and Clowney. On the Offensive side for them Watson is simply amazing and even better on his home field. Watson to Hopkins is what these playoffs are all about! The craziest stat I ever seen was Watson has not lost a game by more than one score in 5 years. Going all the way back to high school. So if they lose it will be close. For the Colts, their defense has really stepped it up and stopping Derrick Henry last week was a HUGE confidence booster. He was the Best Back the last month of the season! Andrew Luck calling the shots has been near perfection and this offense is very scary. I would not want to be playing these guys at any point in the playoffs! Even know the Colts have not been if the top 5 as a team in any categories this season, they started off slow and injured. This game all comes down to, if they can establish the run and I think they can. I shopped around for the best odds and found this below.

My Pick: Indianapolis Colts +2

Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys

I believe this could be the toughest game of the weekend. The Seahawks average 160 YPG on the ground 1st in the NFL thanks to Russell Wilson, but the Cowboys as a team only give up a little over 94 YPG and that is 5th in the NFL. Something has to give here, the Cowboys are a Conference best 7-1 at home this season and all were by a touchdown or less except one, while the Seahawks are just 4-4 on the road and they also kept their games very close. Zeke should be ready to roll, but Pete Carroll should be ready for him. He knows how to win in the playoffs. The key to this game will be Dak Prescott. He needs to do more for his team and not rely on Elliott to take them to the promise land. I can't trust him or the inconsistency of the Cowboys. As my father always told me, take the points in a close game.

My Pick: Seattle Seahawks +2.5

Los Angeles Chargers at Baltimore Ravens

Another great game to kick off Sunday NFL Playoffs. The Chargers are clearly one of the Best road teams in the NFL at 7-1 and knows how to win when it counts. The Ravens had to win a tough final 3 games of the season to make the playoffs and did it. Both teams can beat anyone on any given day, which makes this game super tough to handicap. Phillip Rivers is ultra consistent and as good as they come to a NFL QB. Melvin Gordon should be ready and has crushed the competition all season when healthy. If we look back to Dec 22 at home against the Ravens, Gordon had just 41 yards a season low. It seems to me when this Ravens team needs to win they do just that. They are the #1 Defense in the NFL and amazingly in the Top 5 in both Run and Pass Defense. As long as there are little or no offensive mistakes they should control this game again. You should never look back because the results because will never be the same. I don't think the Ravens will win 22-10 this time around, but do think they get the W by at least 3 or more. When in doubt go with Coach Harbaugh!

 My Pick: Baltimore Ravens -2.5

Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears

WOW! Am I really saying the Bears? It does not get any better than this! A team predicted to finish in last in the division vs the Super Bowl Champs. The Eagles can still throw the ball and Nick Foles just knows how to win games when he is not suppose to. I do think Jason Peters is very important for the Eagles as is Eddie Jackson for the Bears. Mitch Trubisky has had his ups and downs, but more ups as of late. This is what we like to see in a 2nd year QB. Coach Nagy is guiding him in the right direction along with the rest of these young stars. Not to mention their #1 ranked run defense. If Foles cannot get the running game going it will be a very long night in Soldiers Field! I really glad Philly is banged up with 17 players hurt, otherwise this would be a very difficult game to predict! Da Bears!

My Pick: Chicago Bears -6
